The triad knot: a new sliding self-locking knot.

چکیده
Tying secure knots is essential in arthroscopic surgery. A new slip knot for arthroscopic shoulder surgery is described. Locking of the knot is accomplished by pulling the post strand. Knot tying is simple and a low-profile, secure knot is produced.

The modified racking hitch(MRH) knot: a new sliding knot for arthroscopic surgery.
Sliding knots are commonly used in arthroscopic surgery and can be problematic in terms of strength and loop security. A new sliding knot for arthroscopic surgery, a modified racking hitch (MRH) knot, is described. The knot is essentially a modified cow's hitch knot that includes two self-locking loops. By tensioning the loop strands, a snug knot is created without backward sliding and provides...
متن کاملBiomechanical comparison of four sliding knots and three high-strength sutures: Loop security is much different between each combination.
There are many types of sliding knots and suture materials used in arthroscopic surgery. The purposes of this study are (i) to evaluate the loop security of standard sliding knots when using different types of high-strength suture materials and (ii) to compare the loop security of a new sliding knot (Chula knot) to other standard sliding knots. Four configurations of sliding locking knots (West...
متن کاملThe giant knot: a new one-way self-locking secured arthroscopic slip knot.
A secure slip knot is very important in the field of arthroscopy. The new giant knot, developed by the first author, has the properties of being a one-way self-locking slip knot, which is secured without additional half hitches and can tolerate higher forces to be untied.
متن کاملArthroscopic knots: determining the optimal balance of loop security and knot security.
PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal knot configuration that maximized both knot and loop security when tied with 2 different types of nonabsorbable, braided suture. TYPE OF STUDY In vitro biomechanical study. METHODS Six commonly used arthroscopic sliding knots (Duncan loop, Nicky's knot, Tennessee slider, Roeder knot, SMC knot, Weston knot) with and without a ser...
متن کاملSurgical Knot Strength in Continuous Wound Closures
Background: Forces applied to knots used for interrupted vs. continuous closures are very different. We studied the knot strength and knot security of three knots when simulating a continuous wound closure: the square, the sliding, and a hybrid constructed using a surgeon’s square knot followed by a sliding knot. Materials and Methods: Knot holding capacity (KHC) of single-strand 1-0 polypropyl...
